First of all, you need to know that "goth/emo" people are very comfortable with themselves and with each other. When one of them gets scooped up, they don't really care who did it or why. They are strange people.

It sounds like she really likes you, and I think you should go for it. The emo kids really are very accepting, even if they are outwardly strange. If you think your friends are capable of accepting her, nothing stands in your way.
